| Beware of a real LEMON! This television, for the couple months it worked, had fair sound and excellent picture. It went quickly down hill from there. After about 6 months, the speakers quit. I hooked up external speakers and kept on perking. I should have seen this as a warning sign, and returned the tv. But no, I was an optomist. I only used this in the guest house, after all. The tv had been used all-in-all probably about 20-25 viewing hours before it finally stopped working for good. If you own one of these, quickly return it before the one year warranty is up. The television is likely to get to the point where the dtv tuner will not work, and then the final death knell- no sound or picture at all after about 13 to 14 months. Really. The big question is: are you going to be satisfied with this hdtv if you consider the purchase price a one year lease? If that's okay with you, go for it. Check some of the blogs out there- at this point, I am trying to figure out how to fix a bad bulging capacitor, but have just recently found out that the capacitor may be only the beginning of my headaches. Check out the steady stream of broken, as-is units being offered on Ebay! Beware- beware. Buy a Samsung. |

| Cons | Will work only for a year. Then, use it as an electronics experiment or throw it away. You'll get no help from Westinghouse. They will nicely act surprised you are having trouble, but once they find out the tv is over a year old, the most they do is offer parts (main or power boards)in the 150.00+ each range, then tell you they don't have any in stock, then you will be disconnected mysteriously.... |
Good luck. I wish I had checked a few sites before I purchased mine. I know better now. I'll NEVER buy a Westinghouse product again.
