32" Class BRAVIA M Series LCD Flat Panel HDTV (31.5" diagonal) - Black

The simple and elegant KDL-32M4000 HDTV brings with it BRAVIA Theatre Sync (HDMI-CEC) for easy, one-touch management of compatible Sony products, ACE contrast enhancement for better shadow detail, and BRAVIA Engine 2 for crystal clear picture quality. And with two HDMI inputs, an additional two component inputs, as well as a PC input you now have up to five different ways to make sure you see HD-level picture quality on the screen. Surrounding all this technology is the sleek, sophisticated design that has been a hallmark of the M-series and Sony televisions. Also available in red, brown and white.

Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE)

Part of the cinematic drama in film-making comes from details found in shadows and dark areas of the picture. Sony’s Advanced Contrast Enhancer (ACE) uses real-time image processing to dynamically adjust backlight levels for improved contrast without masking details the filmmaker intended you to see. ACE delivers deep blacks in darker scenes, as well as fine details in shadows and other dark areas of the picture for a difference you can truly see.

BRAVIA Engine Technology

The latest version of Sony’s respected BRAVIA Engine fully digital video processor uses a collection of unique SONY algorithms to significantly reduce noise and produce sharp, vibrant, life-like images... Dynamic Noise Reduction: Intelligently identifies and dramatically reduces noise in the signal according to the motion and brightness of each scene for clearer, crisper images. Detail Enhancement: Improved image enhancement algorithms render greater overall detail. Contrast Enhancement: Works with the Advanced Contrast Enhancer circuit to optimize the contrast for every scene to create better depth and reality. BRAVIA Engine technology optimizes the color, contrast, detail and clarity of every scene for the exceptional performance that BRAVIA HDTVs are known for.

BRAVIA Theatre Sync

BRAVIA Theatre Sync is based on the industry standard HDMI-CEC function and allows your HDMI cable to do more than just transmit pure digital audio and video signals by allowing one-touch control of compatible A/V components. Functions include: ONE-PUSH PLAY, ONE-PUSH THEATRE SETTINGS and ONE-PUSH SYSTEM POWER OFF.

Great 32 inch LCD TV from Sony

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful
The Sony KDL32M4000 is an other quality product from Sony. Sony is one of the top brands when it comes to LCD TV's

The picture is very clear with nice dark blacks and good motion transition. The LCD TV has a nice clean design, exactly what you would expect from sony. On the side of the TV you have easy to access standard Audio Video inputs, which makes it easier to hook up a new device.

The sound could be a little better but is the norm for 32" TV's with build in speakers. If high quality sound is important then it will be worth getting some external speakers to use. Another minor point is the controls are on top, not really that big of a deal but if you were to mount the TV on a wall, you need to be able to reach the top of the TV to turn off the TV without the use of the remote.

Pros
Nice clean image
Has standard inputs on the site

Cons
Controls are on top
Sound is not the best, a little hissy at higher volumes

Conclusion
The Sony KDL32M4000 is a great Sony LCD TV, nice picture, adequate speakers, with the great Sony reputation. The price is a little higher than some of the other options but you are getting a Sony.
