Toshiba is a prominent conglomerate based in Japan and their head quarter is sited at Tokyo. These two companies are "Tanaka Engineering Works" and "Tokyo Denki". After the merger took place the joint company became popular as "Tokyo Shibaura Denki". After that it was known by the nickname Toshiba and officially the name was changed to Toshiba in the year 1978. Gradually the company expanded its exposure in the other fields with various collaborations and acquisitions. The sections of Toshiba group include Toshiba Carrier Corporation, Toshiba EMI, Toshiba America Information Systems, Toshiba Lighting and Technology, Toshiba Chemical, Toshiba Electrical Equipment and Toshiba International Corporation.
